Dr. Erik Kovács earned his university degree in Geography from the University of West Hungary and later received his doctoral degree summa cum laude from the School of Environmental Sciences at Eötvös Loránd University. His main field of expertise is environmental geosciences, with a focus on climate research and agroclimatology. He has been conducting research on climate change for nearly 12 years. His academic achievements have been recognized with several awards, including twice receiving the National Excellence Scholarship, the Eötvös Loránd Student Scholarship, and the Alma Mater Commemorative Medal.

Before joining the team at the Climate Policy Institute, he worked in the private sector, gaining valuable insights into various market and economic processes. In his free time, he enjoys spending days in Csörnyeföld, Zala County, where he engages in winemaking. He plays squash weekly and actively participates in volunteer environmental activities.
