Katarína holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), and a Master’s degree in the same field from Corvinus University of Budapest. Her academic journey continued at Corvinus, where she pursued a PhD at the Doctoral School of International Relations and Political Science. Her doctoral research focused on International and Security Studies, with a particular emphasis on energy security, exploring the geopolitical dimensions of energy dependency and transition in the Visegrad countries.

Throughout her career, Katarína has blended academic insight with practical engagement in international policy. She worked at the Regional Academy of the United Nations in Vienna, contributing to policy dialogue on global governance and sustainable development in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). She is an active member of both the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the National Association of Hungarian Journalists. As an UNLEASH Ambassador, she plays a vital role in advancing sustainability, mentoring emerging professionals, and fostering innovative, solutions-oriented initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Katarína combines teaching, mentorship, and research in her professional life. She is a guest lecturer at Corvinus University of Budapest and serves as a Senior Mentor at the Milestone Institute. She previously held the position of Deputy Chief Editor at Köz-gazdaság – Review of Economic Theory and Policy, the academic journal of Corvinus University, where she oversaw the editorial process and coordinated contributions on a broad range of economic and political topics.

Her research sits at the intersection of energy security, climate policy, sustainable development, and green economics. She explores how environmental and geopolitical dynamics shape Europe’s energy transformation, with particular attention to Russian foreign policy and regional strategies for sustainability.
