Mónika Besenyei earned degrees in Mathematics and Physics at ELTE and later graduated as an environmental engineer from Széchenyi István University in Győr. She obtained her PhD from Corvinus University. During her professional career, she pursued further education in international adult education, quality assurance, and educational development programs (e.g., EU-Success, Climate-KIC, Transition Hub).
She is a member of the Economics Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) and the Environmental Pedagogy Division of the Hungarian Educational Research Association. Throughout her career, she has taught, conducted research, and carried out training and development tasks at several universities in Hungary. Additionally, she has worked as a consultant for major international advisory firms and contributed to several green civil organizations. Mónika Besenyei’s primary research area focuses on exploring the interactions between environmental sustainability, the economy, and the corporate sector.
