On 4 February 2026, a group of 22 Polish students visited the Budapest headquarters of Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC). The group arrived in Hungary within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, supported by the Association of Modern Polish Thought, the TEB Edukacja educational network, and the Myśl Polska organisation.

The central theme of the Polish students’ programme in Hungary was the relationship between ecology and society, explored through lectures, institutional visits, and cultural activities. As part of this programme, Balázs Bárány, representing the Climate Policy Institute, delivered a lecture entitled “Hungary’s Climate Policy: From Philosophy to Implementation.”

The lecture presented the scientific foundations and value-based principles of Hungary’s climate policy, as well as their practical implementation, with particular emphasis on social aspects. The presentation also provided an opportunity for students to engage in discussion through their questions, examining how environmental protection, politics, and social responsibility intersect in Central Europe.

The informal discussion that followed the lecture complemented the students’ programme and contributed effectively to strengthening international, intergenerational dialogue on the relationship between ecology and society.
