Students and staff from the Climate Policy Institute at MCC recently visited the no-till farm of Dr. Zsolt Hetesi in Döbrököz, where we gained firsthand insight into how this innovative farming method supports soil conservation, enhances biodiversity, and contributes to climate protection.

During the program, we toured areas of Dr. Hetesi’s family farm, where crops such as peas, barley, and corn are cultivated using the Norfolk four-course crop rotation system. We also explored the practice of regenerative, no-till soil management and experienced the importance of healthy soil life through practical demonstrations.

At the end of the study trip, we visited the ruins of Verbőczy Castle, where our guide delivered an engaging historical presentation on the castle’s past. We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Zsolt Hetesi for his warm hospitality!
