Several MCC researchers represented Hungary at Central and Eastern Europe’s largest economic gathering, which this year brought together more than 6,000 participants and 500 programs over the course of three days.

Our institute’s director, Dr. Mónika Besenyei, speaking on the panel about the challenges of climate and environmental policy, emphasized that Europe’s economic strengthening and security can only be sustainable if the green transition rests on credible foundations. Scientific results are not mere opinions, but solid starting points for responsible decisions—serving as guarantees of both competitiveness and social stability.

The discussion was moderated by Marzena Wichniarz (Poland), co-founding president of Social Movement.

Panel participants:

  • Mardhia Hussein (Iraq) – Founder and Director, Green Dream
  • Angela Angjelovska (North Macedonia) – Lawyer, LGP Lawyers North Macedonia
  • Anna Sands (Poland) – Policy Lead, WWF Poland Foundation
  • Rebecka Le Moine (Sweden) – Member of Parliament

Main message of the panel: Knowledge and innovation are key economic resources on which Europe’s sustainable development can be built.
